Iran spent $130M to back artists last year: Culture Ministry

Iran Culture Minister Sayyed Reza Salehi Amiri stated that about 500 billion tomans (132 million dollars) was spent in the closing Iranian year, 1395, to back artists, authors and cultural activist.

Salehi Amiri explained to Iranian media that what happened in the Iranian calendar year 1395 is briefed in three important moves.

The first move was to create an atmosphere of stability and tranquility in the cultural environment in order to accomplish the country’s cultural duties.

“I stress that a cultural environment is a positive atmosphere which should not be disturbed by conflicts. Therefore, we tried to follow a shared literary convergence and conformity to create peace and stability in our cultural environment,” the official said.

He explained that the second point in the three-step move “is the cultural vitality which is reflected through people’s consumption of cultural products, and we must try to increase this trend in society.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, he highlighted that effective measures were taken to promote the fields of books, movies, music, theater, poetry, art and all cultural realms of the Quran and mosques activities.

The third point was in line with the economy of resistance.

“We tried to pursue the dialogue of resistance economy at the national level. He concluded that the coming New Year will be a year of cultural development and the achievement of promises given to the people at the beginning of the government,” Salehi Amiri concluded.
